The dream of easy money and the relentless promotion of the extraordinary success of a few people, has drawn all kinds of people to the Network Marketing Industry over the past 30 years. The lure of earning $100,000 a month, or of even $10,000, is irresistible to many who are not told what is involved in being able to make money online. It is difficult to make that kind of money in any type of Network Marketing business. Hence, 95% of them fail and also warn their friends to stay away.
Isn’t it misleading to promise an easy financial freedom when 95% of people who buy in fail? People who fall for these promises are the wrong people for the business anyway! Most long-termers have actually stayed in the business because they love some aspect of their work from home Network Marketing business! You are always hearing Its easy! Anyone can do it! Work From home! Make Money Online! The Next Billion Dollar Company! Everyone wants this product It sells itself! Etc etc.
Most people recognize that as MLM (or Network Marketing) calling! It’s how we’ve been taught to sell for years! It’s also what has got a lot of companies into trouble with the regulators! Is this one a pyramid or not? Is there an emphasis on people joining or on sales of the product? If the business is product based, is the product genuine? Is the product commercially viable? Why keep doing this? Because it works!
It pulls in tens of thousands of desperate people clutching their last $500 and hoping for some magic to save them! And also others who heard about this simple waiter with no education who made $90K a month so you can too! Err can’t you? We have all at some stage been sold on the Easy, if he can do it, so can I?
Most newcomers do what their upline trainers tell them Just talk to your friends, it s like recommending a restaurant or movie! It s branded as Duplication and you are told to follow it to the letter. But is it the way? How many friends have any of us lost recommending a restaurant or movie? Then, how many friends have been lost recommending your latest Network Marketing opportunity? And how many of these have you offered to these friends in the past few years?
The dream of financial freedom is stronger than ever! Friends want to believe that this just might be it! Then they fail. That s when they feel abused. They trusted in you, bought in, and then discovered that they can t sell. They get mad at themselves and then mad at you! I can t believe I let you talk me into this! I must have had a stupid moment to have believed you! There goes the invitation to the next family barbecue!!!
Don’t let anyone convince you that it is easy to make money online, it isn’t hard either. It just takes commitment on your part as well as a desire like you probably have never had before. Stick with it, find your WHY and you will get there.

Many of the home based business opportunities available today involve a Network Marketing company, commonly know as Multi-Level Marketing or MLM. Are any special skills needed to be a part of an MLM company? The answer to that is a simple no. However, if you want to be part of an MLM and be successful then there are some skills that you must acquire and develop. Dont think that success is automatic because your sponsor has shown you company literature that focuses on all the success stories. If you wanted to be a welder, you have to acquire new skills. If you wanted to be a truck driver you need to acquire new skills. Whatever occupation one has requires skills. Having your own work from home based business is no different.
Can the skills you need to be successful with your home based business opportunity be learned? Of course they can. It will take time and work but you can learn. And by learning these skills youre increasing the chance of being successful. But if you dont take the time, or make the time, then you will never master some of the skills needed. Do you have to be an expert? Of course not. But you do have to be skillful enough to help bring about success. Learning is an on going process and taking one step at a time will get you there.
That is one of the important skills needed in most home based business opportunities? One is communication. You have to be a good communicator. Being able to talk to to people is a necessary part of any business, on-line or off. If you are somewhat shy or timid youll find things difficult for awhile. But as you develop and grow you will become more confident in your ability to communicate effectively with others. Communication is a two way street and being able to listen to others is as important as giving them your insights. How will you know what they want if you dont listen to what they say? If they dont want what you are offering you will save yourself a lot of time and grief just by listening.
As you start out building your work from home based business opportunity remember that there are a number of skills that must be developed to be successful. We have only touched on one here, but it is a very important one. Being able to speak to others and also listen to what they have to say will be a cornerstone of your success. People do not like to be pressured into buying something or joining a program. With proper communication skills youll soon see that youll be able to separate quite easily those interested in your work from home based business opportunity from those that are not.
